Paatal Poha Chivda

Rice is a staple diet in large part of India. Rice has a wide range of recipes right from the snack to the desserts. Recipes use rice in various forms such as flattened rice, puffed rice, rice flour, parboiled (dried) rice. Recipes range from quick snack to some traditional delicacies.

Flattened rice commonly known as 'Poha' or ‘Pohe’ and is a very popular ingredient for making breakfast dishes or snacks.

Flattened rice (Poha) comes with various thicknesses such as thick, medium and thin poha.

Chivda is a crunchy, dry snack made from flattened rice, puffed rice or even sundried shoestring potatoes. Chivda can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container to maintain its crunch.

Chivda is a healthy snack when one wants a quick bite. Flattened rice when deep fried and loaded with nuts becomes a very delicious starter for your spread to entertain guests especially during festival season. I am using thin poha for this delicious recipe. It's a very easy to make snack.
